About RMJ
Ryan – the man with many hats.
Ryan wears many hats at RMJ Tactical: Designer, Engineer, Machinist, Bladesmith and Research/Development. Every tomahawk that goes out the door has been through Ryan’s hands several times. Each tomahawk is solely designed by Ryan and engineered for performance. Ryan also does all of the CNC programming for the tomahawks.
Kerri - The voice of RMJ Tactical.
Kerri is usually the one you talk to when you call us. She packages most of the hawks we ship, keeps a close eye on final quality, makes sure all our orders get filled and always makes sure that our military orders ship out first. Two stories speak volumes about her and her work with RMJ.
First, as usual we had a long waiting list and one man called in wanting to know where his tomahawk was as he had been waiting several months. Kerri told him that we had his about ready to ship, but a young man was deploying that week so we sent it to him to take to Iraq, but his would be one of the first out of the next batch completed. The man was not happy and said, “I’m just as good as his is!” Kerri was quiet for a moment, then said, “Yes sir, you are. But you wouldn’t want to get your tomahawk before one of our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan gets theirs would you? Of course I will be happy to cancel your order, but you wouldn’t want to be the reason a young man in the war zone had to wait for his, would you?”
The other is that one day her eyes were red and puffy and I asked what was up. She said that she had made a little ol’ man cry. How did you do that? I asked. Kerri said that he was ordering a hawk for his son who was deploying to Iraq and when they had completed the order, she said to him, “God bless you and may he bring your son home safely.” Well, he started crying, and then I started crying. So we cried on the phone together.”
Richard - All things Office, Correspondence, Phones, Orders, Handle Assembly, Scabbard Assembly
Richard is the glue that holds everything together. With Ryan being hopelessly preoccupied with the designing and making of tomahawks, Richard applies the duracoat finishes, does engraving, sweeps the floor, occasionally runs the CNC mill, makes sure the paperwork gets done, bills get paid and orders get shipped.

Jim - Heat Treatment
“I’ll run them over the weekend so I can do them myself.”
Jim has forgotten more about the heat treatment of steels than many knowledgeable people in the field ever know. Jim is a Vietnam-era Marine and an all-around good guy who owns a very large heat treating business here in the Tennessee Valley. Because of his respect for the end users, Jim always insists on personally heat treating the tomahawks and checking each one.
John Hutcheson - CNC Mill, Sharpening, Profiling, Scabbard Molding, Scabbard Assembly
John is our resident critic and go-to guy when it comes to hashing out new ideas and designs. He also does our in-house CNC Milling and puts the final edge on our tomahawks. He has 30 years of machine design and knife making under his belt and has always been a valuable resource to me. John makes some of the toughest and best knives available - check them out on his website: www.sursumknife.com
